Birthday Travels

My birthday was well over a month ago now and I blame school for not being able to write this post quicker (yes I am using school as a scapegoat for my laziness). Anyway I thought I'd tell you about the loveliest most memorable birthday I've had to date and why I loved it so much :)

On my birthday this year it was decided I would travel to Denmark to surprise my best friend who'd moved there last Christmas. We had spent our birthdays together every year since we were five as they are really close together and I was not about to break tradition! So my mum and I set off with a huge sweat inducingly heavy cake on our way to the land of Lego (Lego is Danish). The journey was so much fun and it was really nice to have random people wishing me happy birthday in public- i.e they bus driver who gave me a shout out on the bus intercom :) We had coffees and some fast food and before we knew it we were on a plane!! I was planning to have a really relaxing journey however me and my mum spent the duration of the flight worrying about the cake that had been carelessly slung into the over head locker. Luckily it landed on Danish soil in one piece so we carried on forward to find the car that would be taking us to our home for the weekend. When we arrived we set down our things- and the cake finally!!- and made ourselves comfortable for about half an hour until we heard a car pull up in the driveway. We rushed to hide in a bedroom as my bff and some of her friends who were staying the night came throught the front door and had a little tour of the house. We waited, holding our breath trying to imagine her reaction when she opened the door an- "AaAaHhHh!!!!!!" Words cannot describe the look on her face when she finally pieced together that I was in her house, in the flesh. We hugged and I was introduced to her lovely friends and the party began!! We roasted marshmallows which served as a great bonding exercise followed by a brief chubby bunny challenge then it was back inside for chill time and truth or dare (which went on for hours might I add). We didn't get to sleep until about 4 in my case and I just remember the feeling of content overwhelming me, there was no other place I wanted to be at that moment in time. The next morning was an attempt to try and seat our party of three boys and six girls plus the adults and a little sister for breakfast. We set off a little while later to go shopping and I had to say goodbye to the strangers I'd met the night before but felt I'd known for ages. They were the nicest most welcoming people I'd met and needless to say I was mighty jealous of my best friend for having such lovely people in her life.

Shopping. I love shopping. Me my bffl and our mums shopped for hours ended with a coffee date at a posh restaurant. And then it was back home to watch some X-Factor and get some shut eye as the next day would be an early rise to get back home and back to normalcy.

My weekend had been a dream, the best three days I'd had in a long time and I was so grateful to have spent it with my best friend and the new friends I'd made along the way :)

Winter mini shop

14:26:00 Neona 0 Comments

I don't often go out and just buy stuff but recently I've been getting a few more things here and there that I really love so I thought I'd tell you about them :)
One thing I really love about the colder months is the fashion, not that I dislike the warmer months (I love them too haha) but there's something about winter that just gets to me. I think it's the cosy days where you just live in jumpers and drink tea or coffee, they're just so inviting! Back to my very very mini 'haul' I'll show you some of the things that I've really loved so far :)

1. I saw this jumper whilst in H&M the other day and I just fell in love with it! It was oversized so I did get a size or two smaller but it's just so cozy, it's ever so slightly longer at the back than the front so you can wear it with leggings if you like. I also love more neutral colours at the moment so the grey just drew me in immediately :) if you happen to pop down to your local H&M (if you've got one) I would honestly consider picking this jumper up!

2. Second thing I fell I love with- which coincidently is also from H&M- was this tartan skirt. It was so appealing and it just caught my eye immediately and I had to have it I guess :) I have to say it is a little short so I would wear some tights or leggings underneath (hence why it's so good for wintery months). But it is such a cute little skirt and paired with a white long sleeved crop top it does look quite nice if I do say so myself...

3. I should really call this a H&M mini haul because these jeggings are also from there. They don't feel like jeggings at all which is why I was drawn to them so quickly. They have a real denim-y feel and are super comfortable so yes, I will be wearing them everywhere :) they're are also a bargain so why not?

4. Come the fist sign of winter I can guarantee that I'll be geared up Eskimo style as I hate being cold, a lot. So it's not unlike me to purchase the occasional winter accessory to broaden my collection and this time I happened to purchase a long coveted tartan scarf. I kid you not when I say this is the softest scarf I have ever felt in a long time. It's so cosy and the colours are so pretty I fell in love immediately! The only thing I'd change is that i'd make it a little more chunky and thick just to get that statement scarf look but I love it nonetheless and there are other patterns too at TK MAXX so if tartan's not your thing maybe there's another pattern that'll take your fancy :)

5. FAIRY LIGHTS :) I absolutely love these!!! They're so cosy and just make my room look so festive. I honestly feel like I'm in my own little fairy cave whenever I put them on and they really bring out the five year old in me :) You can buy these anywhere for a reasonalble price so if you do like them, please go ahead and get yourself some!!

Halloween!

13:05:00 Neona 0 Comments

Hi Everyone! Hope you all had a nice Halloween! I normally don't do much for the holiday apart from a little face paint and some scary movies but this year I attended a Halloween sleepover which was so much fun I might turn it into an annual thing! Me and two friends got together and watched some films- like the classic original Nightmare On Elm Street (which has young Johnny Depp in it might I add)- we also ate a ton of sweets, so yes I will be visiting my dentist in the near future :)
It was nice to just hang out for a while and catch up because we're normally so busy with school we don't have much time to really chat. Little get togethers allow us to get back on track with friendships and just appreciate each other's company :)

That's me at the front, I guess I'm a weird take on the Joker?!

Autumnal thinking

18:15:00 Neona 2 Comments

Hello autumn!! I cannot say I have been disappointed by your presence, everywhere has been hinted with a crisp shade of orange and I can finally wear jumpers and scarves without receiving unpleasant looks from the general public. My only complaint is when it rains and I'm faced with walking on soggy leaves :( but when you look at the fact I can now drink as many warm beverages as I desire and eat as much as crumble as I like, soggy leaves are the least of my problems (the most being how I'm going to lose all the weight that I'll inevitably gain in the next few months whilst living in my bedroom and watching criminal minds 24/7). With Halloween just around the corner I'm frantically trying to organise as many movie days as I possibly can, in order to watch some spine tingling horror movies- so far I've organised one but we're getting there!! My aim this season is to take as many autumnal pictures as I can and also go on some really nice walks. I'd also love to go on a 'fall' shopping spree and increase my cosy clothes collection but I never really have time thanks to school :(

One thing I have to admit is I've never had a pumpkin spice latte from Starbucks so I guess that's on this year's bucket list...

I'll leave you now with some cute autumn photos ⋆*❁*⋆。
